Ujjayanta palace Agartala Tripura

Ujjayanta Palace is a historic palace located in Agartala, the capital city of Tripura state in India. It was constructed during the reign of Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya in 1901 and was completed in 1909. The palace served as the royal residence of the Manikya dynasty until 1949 when Tripura merged with India.

The palace is designed in Indo-Saracenic architectural style and is spread over an area of 28 hectares. It has three floors, and the interiors are adorned with beautiful Mughal-style gardens, fountains, and artificial lakes. The palace has a throne room, a dining hall, a library, and several other rooms that are decorated with exquisite artwork, murals, and sculptures.

After the merger of Tripura with India, the palace was used by the Government of Tripura as the state legislative assembly until 2011 when a new assembly building was constructed. Currently, Ujjayanta Palace is a museum that houses a collection of the artifacts, artworks, and other historical items related to the Manikya dynasty and the history of Tripura. The palace is a popular tourist attraction in Agartala and is visited by a large number of tourists every year.
